Joi Scientific’s Hydrogen 2.0TM technology is a breakthrough platform generating hydrogen gas from an aqueous fuel of saltwater at ambient pressure and temperature onsite and on demand.
Joi is using an aqueous saltwater solution as the source for hydrogen generation instead of pure water.  Seawater makes up over 97% of Earth’s water.  It’s an abundant resource, making it a very attractive source for small, medium, or large-scale hydrogen production.
The barriers to large scale adoption of hydrogen as an energy source generally relate to infrastructure issues: compressing, storing, and transporting the gas to its point of use.  Joi’s goal of hydrogen generation onsite and on demand addresses those barriers.
Joi has six patents granted, one application patent pending, one patent application in final drafting, and anticipates an additional two or more patent filings during 2026.
